Welcome to Chisholm Elementary

We’re on the same T.E.A.M! Go for Gold Everyday!

August 6, 2018

Dear Parents and Guardians,

It is with great pleasure and excitement that I welcome you to T.E.A.M. Chisholm for the 2018-2019 school year!  Im happy to serve each of you and embrace the opportunity to work with a faculty that is dedicated to Teach Engage and Accelerate the Minds of all students in our school.

I pledge to you, our students and parents, that this will be a year of meaningful and engaging learning experiences in a positive and safe environment.  Great things are happening at Chisholm Elementary School this school year and we are going to the next level in leadership.  I anticipate a successful year as we work together to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of the students at Chisholm Elementary School.

I am excited to announce that our school is one of the recipients of a 5-year grant opportunity to implement The Leader In Me – a transformational character process. This process is based on Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.  The Habits are the foundation by which we make decisions in our adult lives, and they are the principles we teach children to develop their character.  The Habits include: Be Proactive, Begin with the End in Mind, Put First Things First, Think Win-Win, Seek First to Understand, then be Understood, Synergize, and Sharpen the Saw.  Teaching these Habits will provide our school community a common language when helping children navigate through understanding themselves and the world around them. You will learn more about the 7 Habits throughout the school year and I extend a special invitation to our parents to join us at school events as often as possible.  Your active participation is key to the success of your child during these early years of school.

I encourage you to familiarize yourself with the procedures outlined in this Parent and Student Handbook.  It is filled with information about how our school operates on a daily basis and addresses policies outlined in the Montgomery Public Schools Code of Student Behavior.  If you still have questions after reviewing the contents of the handbook, please do not hesitate to give me a call.
